About Arki-Gen
Arki-Gen was initiated in October 2021 by a group of passionate artists, educators and scholars who are dedicated to research, document, promote and rejuvenate the plethora of Malay performing arts in Singapore and in the region of Southeast Asia.

The Ronggeng Revival Project is the collective’s first initiative to revive a cultural arts tradition that used to be a popular social event throughout the Malay archipelago. With the respective expertise of the collective’s fellow members in the fields of research, choreography, music composition and community activism, the collective is looking to revive and rejuvenate the multiple components of Ronggeng to help reconnect with forgotten histories, community engagement and collaborative artistic endeavours.
The collective is led by practitioner-scholar, Dr Muhd Noramin Mohd Farid with the capable support of its founding members, Lyn Hanis Rezuan, Norisham Osman, Muhammad Aryandi, Seri Rahayu Anuar and Lenny Karmila. The collective is looking to expand its membership to other curious creatives.
